The event will be the fifth the UFC has hosted in Connecticut, but the first since UFC 55 in 2005.
As a result of the cancellation of UFC 176, a rematch between Gegard Mousasi vs. Ronaldo Souza was rescheduled for this event and is expected to serve as the event headliner.
Their first fight at Dream 6 ended in a KO victory for Mousasi.
This event marks the first time the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Bellator MMA have had live shows (UFC Fight Night 50 vs. Bellator 123) go against each other. Additionally, both are being held in the same state in venues located within miles of each other.
