What class does each martial arts come under? Which martial arts come under defensive arts, balanced arts and offensive arts? The reason I'm asking this is that I'd like to train in a martial arts again, and I want to know the different types of each martial art, if that made sense.

If you wan't to become good at martial arts just start MMA, you'll learn more effective techniques than in any traditional martial art.

Yes I agree and training MMA does exactly that. Teaches you the differences between the martial arts and what each art is specially good for, offensive or defensive.
