I'm a huge fan of Bruce Buffer. He isn't the best announcer in the world, but everything else he does makes up for it. He said in the video that he gives Dana and the Fetitta brothers all the credit for the UFC and MMA, but the truth is that Bruce has also been a major influence. He went to bat for the UFC early with the athletic commissions and was a force at helping get MMA accepted as a legitimate sport. It's a story that needs to be told.
Bruce is also a Black Belt in Judo.
This is what we don't get to see on TV. I really wish they'd show this stuff. He's so awesome:

Yeah Buffer is a cool guy and done alot in the background when the UFC started.

Certainly as far as MMA goes (I don't watch boxing all that often), I like Bruce the most out of all the announcers. He doesn't do much of the cheesy "Let's make some noise!!!!!" stuff some guys do, and he gives good, clear info when detailing the fighters. He also rarely makes mistakes. I rate him FAR higher than Jimmy "Why Use 10 Words When 100 Will Do" Lennon Jr, for example.
But yeah, in all interviews I've seen with him he always comes across as very thankful and modest about his fame. He often gets shown when the UFC does some charity work, so he's clearly happy to use his position to help others, which is always good.
