Basically I'm looking for a piece of Windows 7 compatible software that can convert some of the very high quality .TS files put up on this site to a regular DVD. Avi2Dvd works exactly how I want, but only supports converting from mkv, ogm, wmv, and avi. I hate installing software only to find out that it doesn't work as i need it to, so I'm hoping someone here is an expert on video conversion software. I'm hoping to stay away from shareware(or anything that forces or entices you to pay for a "Pro" version). I I've already been through 3 pieces of software that don't work, so if anyone knows of a killer app, please let me know .

I would highly recommend this: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/con ... xtodvd.phpYou will need a keygen (which I can send you) if you want the full copy though. I know you said you "were hoping to stay away from shareware(or anything that forces or entices you to pay for a "Pro" version)", this is a legit download with a keygen. I know it works as you want because i use it, I use XP, but it does say it's compatible with Windows 7 If you want the keygen then let me know your email address and i can send it to you

For me, ConvertXtoDVD consistently failed converting high-quality .TS file from this site correctly. It seems the audio/video were not muxed correctly, causing the audio to be delayed around 30+ seconds behind the video. ConvertXtoDVD seemed like one of those "idiot proof", "so easy a caveman can do it" type of programs. I played around with the few options it had and had no luck.
I was finally able to find a program that perfectly suits my needs, by researching . The Program is called , and is completely open source/freeware. With AVStoDVD, I get what I've come to expect from open source software: More complexity, options, customization, and configurability at the cost of ease of use.
At first I had problems with HCenc and QuEnc freezing up and not responding during a conversion. I then went and tweaked the bitrate options, setting them below the average settings. After that, everything went smoothly. It might have something to do with the fact that most of the .TS files uploaded onto this site are of extremely high bitrate, and the encoders have trouble handling them at the default settings.
Anyway, I found the perfect program for my needs, and would highly recommend AVStoDVD to anyone wanting to convert any type of file to a DVD. Not only do you not need a keygen/crack, you get more options for quality and speed of the conversion. It also handles conversion from all the same file types ConvertXtoDVD does.

If you'd like something else, give Handbrake a spin. Very easy to use and handles just about every format under the sun: http://handbrake.fr/Some have had mixed results converting .TS files, but I suspect the problem isn't with Handbrake.

lol @ ElCapitanos avatar
I use Handbrake, AutoGK and MeGUI generally, and sometimes the Arcsoft or Cyberlink apps that can run the conversion on the ATI GPUs.
I dont really use DVDs too much these days so I havent really searched for an all in one tool convert & burn though I doubt theres one as flexible or powerful as using some of these standalone transcoders
