Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by Strikeforce. It is expected to take place on March 3, 2012 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The event will be the second that the organization has hosted in the state of Ohio and coincided with the Arnold Sports Festival, which annually draws up to 150,000 sports fans. Derek Brunson scratches from 'Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey,' replacement sought Undefeated Derek Brunson (9-0 MMA, 3-0 SF) has been forced out a "Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey" fight with fellow middleweight Ronald "Jacare" Souza (14-3 MMA, 4-1 SF). Officials today announced that Brunson failed his medicals for the fight, though the undisclosed ailment is "not severe" in nature, according to Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker. A replacement is being sought for next week's card. "Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey" takes place March 3 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, and coincides with the annual Arnold Sports Festival. The main card airs on Showtime, and prelims air on Showtime Extreme. Coker said he expects Souza to remain on the main card. Souza, a submission ace, fights for the first time since surrendering his belt to Luke Rockhold this past September. The result snapped a four-fight winning streak for "Jacare" and served as his first loss under the Strikeforce banner. Roger Bowling vs. Brandon Saling a late addition to 'Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey' A welterweight bout between Ohio natives Roger Bowling (10-2 MMA, 3-2 SF) and Brandon Saling is a late addition to next week's "Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey" event. Event sources today confirmed the matchup with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey" takes place March 3 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, and coincides with the annual Arnold Sports Festival. The main card airs on Showtime, and prelims air on Showtime Extreme. Bowling vs. Sailing will be part of the Showtime Extreme broadcast. The hard-hitting Bowling has alternated between wins and losses since joining Strikeforce in 2010. Most recently, he rebounded from a TKO loss to Bobby Voelker with a 42-second knockout of Jerron Peoples at "Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal." Bowling, who's based out of Cincinnati's Team Vision, now owns six knockouts in 10 career wins. Was going toupdate this but wikipedia says one thing, other sites another, strikeforce own site only shows 3 fights... I must say that since UFC purchased Strikeforced they have not exactly improved their website lol, on the contrary. Not sure what the final full card will be yet. |
