If it was good enough for UFC 133, it's good enough for FOX. According to ESPN, UFC officials have booked Rashad Evans (16-1-1 MMA, 11-1-1 UFC) and Phil Davis (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) for a headlining slot in the promotion's sophomore effort on network television. The two top light heavyweights, who were expected to meet at this past August's UFC 133 before Davis was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury, will now headline UFC on FOX 2, which takes place Jan. 28 in at Chicago's United Center. Evans, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, went on to defeat Tito Ortiz at UFC 133 and was expected to face former teammate and current titleholder Jon Jones in December, but a lingering hand injury forced "Suga" to withdraw from the matchup. Jones now face Lyoto Machida in the main event of December's UFC 140. Meanwhile, Davis brings a perfect career mark to the cage. The four-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler fought most recently in a March unanimous-decision win over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and also counts wins over Tom Boetsch, Rodney Wallace, Alexander Gustafsson and Brian Stann on his resume.
