UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on December 10, 2011 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

Background
A bout between Lyoto Machida and Phil Davis was linked to this event. However, it was revealed that Davis is still recovering from a knee injury and the bout would not occur.
A bout between Jon Jones and Rashad Evans was also linked to this event. However, a lingering thumb injury will cost Evans a potential title bout with Jones for the second time, as Jones is now expected to face Lyoto Machida at the event.
Rory MacDonald was expected to face Brian Ebersole at the event. However on November 8th, MacDonald pulled out of the bout citing an injury and was replaced by Claude Patrick, who was promoted from a preliminary card bout with Rich Attonito as a result. Rich Attonito will remain on the card against UFC newcomer Jake Hecht.
UFC 140 will feature 4 preliminary bouts live on Ion Television.

Wow that is interesting. Jones is just killing it. Not quite sure Lyoto deserves a shot at the belt after Jones DEMOLISHED Shogun who took it from Machida but... I'm down to see a beating.

UFC 140 will feature the usual five-bout pay-per-view broadcast, but returns to ION Television for several preliminary bouts. UFC 125 was the first time that the promotion utilized the broadcast network for its preliminary fights.
The UFC 140 bouts slated to air on ION Television include: Krzysztof Sozynski vs. Igor Pokrajac in a light heavyweight contest; Jared Hamman vs. Costa Phillippou in a middleweight bout; John Makdessi vs. Dennis Hallman in 155-pound action; and Yves Jabouin vs. Walel Watson in a bantamweight bout.
The remaining three UFC 140 preliminary bouts will air live on the UFC Facebook page.
