The Japanese-based DREAM promotion today officially announced its next event, DREAM.13, takes place March 22.
The event is set for the 17,000-seat Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan, and is expected to air in North America on HDNet.
A featherweight title fight between champion Bibiano Fernandes (7-2 MMA, 4-0 DREAM) and Joachim Hansen (19-8-1 MMA, 3-2 DREAM) is possible for the show but wasn't part of today's announcement.
MMAjunkie.com passed along the news of the potential championship bout, which would see Hansen drop from lightweight to featherweight, on Monday. Although the bout is not signed, both competitors are believed to be open to the matchup.
DREAM.13 is the promotion's first event since the organization co-promoted the Dec. 31 "Dynamite!! 2009" show with World Victory Road's Sengoku event series. The year-end event featured a stacked lineup with some of DREAM's top fighters.
With the time difference between the U.S. and Japan, DREAM.13 takes place at about the same time as "UFC on Versus 1: Vera vs. Jones," a Colorado-based event that marks the UFC's debut on Spike TV. Brandon Vera meets Jon Jones in the headliner.

I love Dream....best opening to any event last year..the white cage Dream..the video and music with the island and fighters...aaahhhh what a promo and the fights were awesome to..classy

Yeah, I really prefer DREAM to any other promotion to be honest. Their referees need to be a little more lenient on guys getting punched on the ground though. That Dynamite! Event had 3 different fights that IMHO were stopped early, (Gary Goodridge, Sokoudjou, and one other i cant recall right now). They need to give the fighters time to defend themselves on the ground, instead of jumping in as soon as the guy falls down from one good punch. If they show they are able to defend themselves, the fight should continue. Other than that I feel DREAM has the better talent, except for the top tier of UFC fighters, (GSP, Penn, Silva)

Yeah, but UFC puts on a lot more shows than dream. Gotta take the good with the bad.

I also noticed the early stops but i think it has to do with the event being broadcatsed on a big family hilliday and they wanted to keep it as clean as possible.
I also love DREAM and it is what reminds me of PRIDE the most. I also like the white cage a lot, wonder if they will do that again...
