Kenny Florian Drops To Featherweight
Former UFC lightweight contender Kenny Florian is set to make the move to the 145-pound division.
ESPN.com first reported the story and Heavy.com has confirmed the news.
The 34-year old Bostonian has fought for the UFC lightweight title twice and came up short each time by decision. Now he’ll drop to the featherweight division in search of a UFC Championship.
Florian is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Gray Maynard at UFC 118 in August 2010, and is expected to make his featherweight debut in June or July.

I respect Florian for trying to chase a title at all costs.
And I respect for not totally fearing Aldo.

I think he should be able to become a top contender pretty easily at 145. But I don't think he has much of a chance to beat Aldo. Could be a great fight though.

something had to change... he couldnt stay at lightweight anymore i dont think... at least now we have something to ask him about at the q&a @ ufc 127...

Kenny was already light at 155. I think the deeper cut to 145 will eat his organs up and waste him before the fight 24 hours after weigh-in. Aldo will make Florian eat his poop.

Oh no! He's shrinking!! lol just joking but he started in tuf as middleweight, went down to lightweight to hunt BJ and now hes going to featherweight. He should probably have started there. Im sure he will learn a lot from this experience and its good to know he can probably go back up eventually if this goes well. As far as winning over Aldo, this is mma anything can happen

This will show us the quality of the 145 lb devission , btw tyson griffin also went down to 145 atleast he can keep some meat on him in there  I don't want to see kenflo after weighins. and if you can't domminate at one weightclass you won't domminate a lower one. because your talent/skill level isn't up there.

I think he is too big for 145 and that the cut will hurt him but only time will tell.
